The Basics

As one of the largest LEGOLAND® parks in the world, the 150-acre (61-hectare) LEGOLAND® Florida Resort is a must-visit destination for kids aged 2-12. The park has a dozen play areas, which include the hands-on Imagination Zone and LEGO MOVIE™ WORLD, which brings the LEGO films to life. How to Get There

LEGOLAND Florida Resort is located in Winter Haven, a 1-hour drive from Orlando via the I-4 W and a 1-hour drive from Tampa via the I-4 E. The LEGOLAND shuttle also operates between Orlando and the park and can be booked in advance. Should you wish to stay overnight, there are three on-site hotels.

When to Get There

LEGOLAND Florida Resort is open year-round; visiting days and hours vary from month to month, so it’s advised to check the website in advance of your visit. LEGOLAND’s Water Park is a seasonal attraction and is open from March-October.

Cypress Gardens

If you need a break from the park’s high-octane rides, take a stroll around Cypress Gardens, a botanical garden that dates back to the 1930s and was originally part of the Cypress Gardens theme park that once stood on the site. Today, the verdant oasis showcases native species such as azaleas, camellias, and a giant banyan tree that was planted in 1939.

Ways to explore

To guarantee entry on a preferred date, many visitors book their tickets to LEGOLAND Florida Resort in advance. These can be different durations—such as 1-day or 2-day tickets, and some packages include entry to other attractions, such as SEA LIFE Aquarium, and the Peppa Pig Theme Park. Some visitors also gain admission using a special Orlando Pass which allows entry to multiple attractions around Orlando, including museums, sightseeing cruises, airboat tours, and exhibitions. Once inside LEGOLAND Florida Resort, there’s plenty to do; think rollercoasters, kid-friendly rides, live shows, and the hands-on Imagination Zone.

Driving

The resort is around a 1-hour drive from Orlando via the I-4 West and a 1-hour drive from Tampa via the I-4 East. On-site parking is available.

Public transportation

LEGOLAND Florida Resort isn’t easy to get to using public transportation. Instead, it’s much better to drive, use a rideshare app, or book a package that includes a private shuttle service.

Best times to visit

If you are able to arrive close to opening time, you’ll have a better chance of getting to experience your favorite attractions without the big lines.

Best days to visit

Tuesdays through Thursdays are typically a lot quieter than the busier weekends—especially Saturdays, which attract big crowds.

Best months to visit

The fall months of September and October are good times to visit, as they avoid spring break and summer crowds and heat.

Special events

October is a fun time to come for the special Brick-or-Treat Halloween season events that come with candy, seasonal characters, and surprises.
