The basics
Beloved for its rugged landscape, Mont Avic Natural Park attracts outdoor enthusiasts to its over 60 miles (100 kilometers) of trails, with something for every ability. There are two visitor centers for the park—at Champorcher and at Champdepraz—where you can find out information and seek guidance on the trails that might be best suited to your needs. The park also has a wide range of trails listed on its official website, which outlines the distances and difficulty, plus provides directions and maps.
Most people spend at least half a day hiking here, while some longer routes can take a full day to complete. Expect to find mountain huts (rifugio) along the trails, which sell food and drinks with scenic views.
