Msida Marina

Msida town was originally a little fishing village but now merges into Ta’xbiex, a wealthy enclave that’s home to the majority of Malta’s diplomats and embassies. Msida’s biggest claim to fame today is its mammoth yacht marina, which stretches along the north side of Marsamxett Harbour right up Msida Creek.
The basics
Along with berths for hundreds of yachts, this marina is home to a cluster of shops and seafood restaurants. A sprinkling of traditional fishing luzzus provide a splash of cheery color among the smooth lines of the contemporary sailing craft moored up in the marina. Sightseeing cruises pass by, and it’s a great place to come independently for a meal or to soak up the atmosphere.
Things to know before you go
*With its bevy of traditional boats moored alongside luxury yachts, the marina is a great place for photographers to get some unusual shots. *The harbor is wheelchair and stroller-accessible. *Wear sun protection if coming during the summer and layers when staying out around sunset.
How to get there
Numerous bus routes pass through Msida on their way out of Valletta from the bus station, just southeast of the City Gate. The journey takes about 15 minutes. The Valletta Ferry Terminal is about 10 minutes away by car, or 25 minutes by bus.
When to get there
The harbor is interesting whenever you visit, though, like elsewhere in Malta, it’s less crowded outside of the summer months. You may prefer to come in the early evening for the chance to catch beautiful sunsets. Alternatively, come at lunch or dinnertime to sit down to a fresh seafood meal with sea views.
Msida Parish Church
Msida’s best-known attraction, and one of the things that draws visitors to the town in reasonably large numbers, is not the Marina but the Msida Parish Church, also known as St Joseph's Church. Dating to the end of the 19th century, this church offers mass almost every day, and is a good place to drop in if you want to hear a service in Maltese.
