The National Library is open to the public. Guests have plenty to explore at Argentina’s most extensive library. Engage with the library's exhibits to better understand Argentina's literary contributions. If you don’t have time to go inside, take a walking or biking tour that includes a stop outside the iconic building to learn about its architecture and design significance. Monday through Saturday, the library offers free tours in Spanish.

How to get there

Guests can easily reach the National Library using Buenos Aires' efficient public transit system. Take bus 67A to the 1666 del Libertador Avenue stop or bus 130A or 130B to the 1620 del Libertador Avenue stop. The library is a few minutes walk from either location. Alternatively, taxis or rideshares offer convenient access. If you prefer a hassle-free journey, select tours include round-trip transportation to the library.

When to get there

The National Library is open Monday through Friday from morning to night and Saturdays and Sundays from early afternoon to evening. For a quieter experience, visit on weekday mornings or early afternoons. The library can be crowded in the afternoon when students come to study.
