Nessieland

On the shores of Loch Ness, Nessieland is a miniature theme park that celebrates the famed monster that supposedly lives in the depths of the loch. Combining fun, kitsch, and education, the park features informative displays along with models of Nessie, an adventure playground, sandpit, cave, model railway, gift shop, and café.
The basics
Visitors can browse exhibits and see photos and newspaper clippings on the history of the Loch Ness Monster, along with viewing a documentary with accounts of the searches and supposed sightings of Nessie. Children can play in the outdoor playground and sandpit, sit on top of a large model of Nessie, and watch an elevated miniature model railway. The park also has a trail leading to an overlook for sweeping views of the loch.
A visit to Nessieland can be easily combined with a stop at the Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition nearby, and a cruise aboard the Nessie Hunter.

Nessieland is ideal for families with kids and those with an interest in the Loch Ness Monster.
The complex is home to a gift shop, coffee shop, bar and restaurant, and hotel.
Nessieland is wheelchair accessible.

How to get there
Nessieland is located on the shores of Loch Ness in Drumnadrochit, around 14.5 miles (23 kilometers) southwest of Inverness. Drumnadrochit is connected to Inverness by public transportation, including bus numbers 17, 917, 919, and 920. Visitors who are driving can take the A82 to Nessieland; there’s plenty of parking on-site.
When to get there
Nessieland is open daily from morning to very early evening. The venue is small and won’t take long to visit, and can easily be combined with nearby Nessie-related sights. Loch Ness cruises aboard the Nessie Hunter run from late March to late October.

Visitors who can’t get enough of Nessie can also visit the Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition just down the road, which has seven themed areas with multimedia presentations covering different aspects of the legend. You can also go on a hunt of your own on the Nessie Hunter boat cruise, complete with 3D sonar, which picks up from Nessieland.
