Opened in the year 2000, this entertainment complex encompasses an indoor arena, a multi-screen movie theater, a bowling alley, and an interactive science center by the name of W5. Crowd-pullers at the arena include famous pop performers and sporting greats, such as local ice hockey legends the Belfast Giants.
The basics
Hop-on hop-off bus tours of Belfast stop at the Odyssey, which is home to the 10,800-capacity SSE Arena, one of the premier sports and concert venues in Belfast. As well as ice hockey, wrestling, darts, boxing, and MMA fixtures, the arena also hosts theater and music performances. Tickets for shows can be purchased in advance either online or over the phone. For a family day out, head to the Odyssey Bowl for bowling and arcade games, or to the cinema for the latest blockbuster. For a more educational option, visit W5, a child-oriented science center.

How to get there
The Odyssey is located in the Titanic Quarter. Translink Metro bus routes 26, 26a, and 26b, run from Donegall Square West in Belfast city center and stop near the Odyssey, while the Airport Express 600 route also stops nearby. The Titanic Quarter train station is about a 10-minute walk away.
When to get there
If you’re going to a performance in the arena, arrive early to allow plenty of time for security checks and to avail of the food and drink concessions in the venue before the show or game gets underway. For the freedom to explore W5 without the crowds, go in early morning or late afternoon.

The W5 science center features a wealth of interactive exhibits designed to appeal to children, including a space-themed activity area, a virtual reality zone, and a multi-level climbing structure. Learn about the body in the MED-Lab exhibition, paint on a digital canvas at the Art Studio, and challenge family and friends to a race in a self-built K’nex car at the Go exhibit.
