As one of Albufeira's best beaches, Praia de Santa Eulália features on many sightseeing tours. Visit on a tuk-tuk tour that explores Albufeira Old Town and hidden gems on the outskirts, or admire it from afar on a romantic catamaran cruise at sunset. You’re also likely to sail past if on a sailing tour of the Algarve’s coastline, which often visit the Benagil Cave and Praia Grande de Pêra, where you might enjoy a BBQ on the beach.

• Even though the sea is typically calm here, there are lifeguards on duty during the summer months.

How to get there

Praia de Santa Eulália is 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) from the center of Albufeira; it’s a 10-minute drive by car or taxi. You can also take the number 66 or 9 bus there, which departs from central Albufeira and drops you off a 10-minute walk away.

When to get there

The beach is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Praia de Santa Eulália is most crowded in July and August when accommodation prices can triple. For fewer crowds and cooler temperatures (but still plenty of sun), visit the Algarve outside of the summer peak season in June or October.
