The nearest airport is Shannon Airport, approximately a one-hour and 15-minute drive away.

The most popular time of year in Salthill is the summer months, when locals cross their fingers for sunshine and warm temperatures. June, July, and August will see the most action at the beaches and in the waterfront restaurants. The shoulder season of spring and fall are a peaceful time to visit. The winter months are very quiet.
