SEA LIFE® Munich
Willi-Daume-Platz 1, Munich, Bavaria, 80809
Amid the landscaped parklands of the Olympic Park, SEA LIFE® Munich whisks visitors on an underwater adventure. Home to over 8,000 fish and marine creatures; expect to see sharks, sea turtles, octopus, and more, from the native creatures of Germany’s lakes and rivers to the natural wonders of the world’s oceans.
The basics
The small SEA LIFE® center is easy to explore in an hour or two, with highlights including the 400,000-liter ocean aquarium and a 10-meter-long glass-walled viewing tunnel. Look out for blacktip reef sharks, manta rays, and clownfish; learn about the natural ecosystems of the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, the Danube, and the River Isar; and meet the aquarium mascot, Gonzales, Bavaria’s only green sea turtle. For a more in-depth experience, watch the feeding of the sharks, rays, or sturgeons; or head to the touch pools, where you can interact with smaller sea creatures such as starfish, anemone, and crabs under the supervision of staff.
