The Basics

Home to more than 25 varieties of sharks, as well as sea turtles, seals, and hundreds of fish species, the Seaquarium is an immersive and educational destination for visitors of all ages. Enjoy the expansive exhibition spaces, which are divided into themed areas including the two-level Sharkarium, the Turtle Museum, and the Marine Mammal Space. The aquarium also hosts regular shows designed to give visitors a deeper understanding of the animals.

• The Seaquarium recommends that you set aside a minimum of two hours for your visit.

How to Get There

The Seaquarium is located on Avenue du Palais de la Mer, just minutes from the town’s main train station. If traveling from Nîmes or Avignon, take the A9; if coming from Montpellier, take the D62.

When to Get There

The Seaquarium is open seven days a week, all year except for on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Hours vary seasonally. The ticket window shuts one hour before closing time.

Le Grau-du-Roi’s waterfront area offers a variety of fun attractions. After visiting the Seaquarium, head to Amigoland, an amusement park with a ferris wheel and other high-flying rides, or to the family-friendly Baby Land, which offers a range of gentle rides and attractions. Le Grau-du-Roi’s golden Espiguette Beach, which boasts up six miles (10 kilometers) of unspoiled seafront, is also a quick bike or taxi ride away.
