Senor Tango
Vieytes 1655, Buenos Aires, The Pampas, C1276
One of the biggest tango shows in town, Senor Tango is a much glitzier affair than the more traditionalmilongas (dance halls) of Buenos Aires. It’s a sizzling show featuring dance routines and visual effects combining light, color, and sound. With dinner served beforehand, it also makes for a complete night out.
The Basics
Senor Tango is located in a historic building known as the “Cathedral of Tango” for its high vaulted ceilings and ornate fixtures. Choose the full dinner and show experience, which includes a main course, dessert, and drinks, or just come for the show. Packages typically include pickup from your Buenos Aires hotel and drop-off. Some tours offer an option of adding on a city tour prior to the dinner and show.
Things to Know Before You Go
Senor Tango is a must-do for lovers of Argentine culture, music, and dance.
The performance lasts around two hours—longer than most shows.
The show guides guests through the evolution of the tango, from its traditional roots to the fresh, contemporary styles of today.
The building has accessible ramps and restrooms.
How to Get There
Senor Tango is located in Barracas, abarrio (neighborhood) in the southeastern part of Buenos Aires. It is served by city buses number 24B, 45A, and 93B. For ease, consider booking a package that includes shuttle transfers to and from your hotel.
When to Get There
The show usually starts at 9pm, with dinner commencing one hour before. Whether you have booked the dinner and show or just the show, it is recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes early to find your seat and settle in.
Senor Tango
Fernando Soler is the “Senor Tango” (Mr. Tango) for whom the show is named. The show is entirely directed and produced by Soler, a highly respected tango musician who has recorded many records and won multiple accolades, including Illustrious Citizen of Buenos Aires in 2007.
