How to Get There
Seven Mile Beach runs north from George Town on the west coast of Grand Cayman’s West Bay peninsula on West Bay Road in the Cayman Islands. It’s a 15-minute drive from George Town and about 10 minutes from the George Town cruise port. There is plentiful free parking near several beach access points, or you can take a taxi from downtown George Town to the beach.
When to Get There
Seven Mile Beach offers beautiful weather nearly year-round, with the hottest months being July and August. The rainy season is May to October. Go in the spring and fall shoulder seasons for fewer crowds.
How Many Miles?
The name notwithstanding, Seven Mile Beach measures about 5.5 miles (8.9 kilometers). Like many beaches, this one suffers from annual beach erosion, which is caused by changing ocean currents and waves and weather patterns such as hurricanes.
