Shiroi Koibito Park
2 Chome-11-36 Miyanosawa 2 Jo, Nishi, Sapporo, Hokkaido, 063-0052
Sapporo’s sweet-themed Shiroi Koibito Park is dedicated to Hokkaido’s most-loved confection, the Shiroi Koibito cookie, which consists of milk or white chocolate sandwiched between two butter biscuits. The park, operated by the cookie manufacturer, offers visitors a taste of what makes Shiroi Koibito so special.
The basics
Visitors to Shiroi Koibito Park learn about the brand and company's history and sample its flagship confection. With tickets for the park’s factory tour, guests can enter the Chocotopia factory and watch Shiroi Koibito and the popular Baumkuchen cake being made. Add a cookie-making experience in the Cookiecraft Studio to make your own Shiroi Koibito. Other attractions include a rose garden and antique ceramics exhibit. Guided tours of Sapporo often include Shiroi Koibito Park.
Things to know before you go
There is an admission fee for the factory and exhibition areas but no fee for the shop and restaurants.
Coin lockers are available.
The park has a worship room for Muslim visitors.
How to get there
The easiest way to reach Shiroi Koibito Park is by taking the (orange) Tozai subway line 15 minutes from Odori Station to the line’s western terminus at Miyanosawa Station. From there, you can reach the park within a 10-minute walk. Alternatively, you can take the Chuo bus from Sapporo Station to Nishimachi Kita 20-chome bus stop, less than a 10-minute walk from the park. The bus journey takes 40 minutes.
When to get there
Shiroi Koibito Park is open daily, year-round, from mid-morning until early evening—aim to arrive close to opening time to avoid the biggest crowds. The park is most magical in winter when a dazzling display of lights illuminates the courtyard—there is no fee to see the light display.
Where to eat
The park is home to a number of eateries. As might be expected, Shiroi Koibito is served in several forms, including soft-serve ice cream, creamy beverages, and beer. Still, visitors can also enjoy such specialties as cheese chicken curry, sweet red bean soup, and Hokkaido corn cream soup.
