Siam Niramit Phuket
55, 81 Chalermprakiat Ratchakan Thi 9 Road, Tambon Ko Kaeo, Phuket, 83000
An acrobatic, dramatic journey through Thai history and culture, performed in a 1,740-seat theater, the Siam Niramit Phuket stage show is a visual feast. Around 100 performers in gorgeous, ever-changing costumes explore ancient kingdoms, Buddhist hell, traditional festivals, and more, backed by epic effects and sumptuous sets.
The basics
Long before the performance starts, the cultural park around the Siam Niramit theater comes alive. Stroll the Thai Village, with its traditional wooden houses, to see live demonstrations of crafts from silk-making to weaving and rice preparation. You can also rent costumes for a photo shoot, watch a dance performance or Muay Thai demonstration, or enjoy the light and fountain show.
Choose between silver, gold and platinum-level seating for the performance; platinum seats are central and raised for the best views. Some packages include dinner at the theater’s great-value Thai and international buffet, as well as round-trip transportation.
Things to know before you go
Taking photos or video during the show is prohibited, and staff members enforce this policy strictly.
The buffet has plenty of vegetarian options, with alcoholic drinks available to purchase.
There is a second Siam Niramit in Bangkok, so check the location when booking tickets.
Be sure to stand when the Thai national anthem plays before the performance.
Siam Niramit Phuket has 20 dedicated wheelchair spaces, as well as accessible parking, adapted bathrooms, and elevator access to the restaurant.
How to get there
Siam Niramit Phuket is on the outskirts of Phuket Town, about a 5-mile (8-kilometer) drive north of Phuket Old Town. There’s no public transportation and most travelers will find it easier to book a ticket package that includes transfers than to self-drive Phuket at night.
When to get there
Phuket’s Siam Niramit show runs every night of the week but Tuesday. Doors open for pre-show fun in the late afternoon, while the performance starts in the evening. Arrive well before the show to make the most of the other activities.
The Siam Niramit story
The visuals and music are spectacular enough that you don’t need to follow the Siam Niramit story in detail. But the first act introduces Thailand’s four main regions, with their different cultures, dress, and traditions; the second explores the mystical three worlds of Thai Buddhism, complete with floating angels; and the third reenacts key Thai festivals, such as the Songkran (New Year) water fight and Loy Krathong lantern festival.
