POINT OF INTEREST

Snorkel Park Beach

Royal Naval Dockyard, Sandy's Parish

Within walking distance of Bermuda’s cruise port, Snorkel Park Beach is a sunseeker’s playground, with white-sand beaches around a glittering lagoon. There are activities to keep all ages amused, including swimming, snorkeling, and a host of water sports, as well as one of Bermuda’s biggest nightclubs.

The Basics

Snorkel Park Beach is a popular choice for cruise passengers, with everything you need for a day at the beach, including a restaurant and beachfront bar. Pedal boats, float toys, snorkeling gear, and scuba equipment are available to rent. A water trampoline is a huge hit with kids, and beach cabanas serve as lounge spots for adults. Several nights a week, the resort is transformed into Club Aqua, a gigantic beachside nightclub playing music into the early hours.

Various water sports packages are available, with activities including guided power-snorkeling tours, sea kayaking, and Jet Ski safaris.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • There is an admission fee to enter the Snorkel Park Beach resort, but kids under 12 are free.

  • Parasols, beach chairs, snorkels, and water shoes are available to rent at the beach.

  • Access to Club Aqua is for those over 18 only.

  • The resort has live entertainment each Sunday, when ticket prices are slightly higher.

How to Get There

Snorkel Park Beach is located at the northwestern tip of Bermuda, a short walk from the cruise docks at King's Wharf and the Royal Navy Dockyard. It’s about a 15-minute taxi ride from Somerset Village.

When to Get There

Snorkel Park Beach is busiest when cruise ships are in port, so if it's peace and quiet that you're after, avoid these times. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights, Club Aqua turns the beach into a thumping nightclub after 10pm, where well-heeled adults party into the early hours. Children under 12 get in free Monday to Saturday, making it the best value for families.

Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at Snorkel Park Beach

As the name suggests, Snorkel Park Beach offers ample opportunities for snorkeling and scuba diving. You can either join an organized excursion or rent equipment and head out on your own. The park’s shallow reefs offer stretches of vibrant corals just offshore, and common sightings include parrotfish, angelfish, and lobster. Several colonial-era cannons and a sunken ship's anchor lie on the seabed, adding an extra element for underwater explorers.
