POINT OF INTEREST

Swingers West End

15 John Prince's St, London, England

One of London’s most playful entertainment venues, Swingers Crazy Golf invites visitors to play mini-golf (or crazy golf, as it’s known in the UK) in style. Housed in a sprawling venue that’s based on the glamour of a 1920’s British seaside resort, there are several 9-hole courses, as well as a carnival area with vintage games, street food options, and a terrace area to relax in between rounds with a cocktail.

The basics

There aren’t many cities that have mini-golf courses right in its center, but London’s Swingers West End offers just that. With sessions for either family groups or for players aged 18 and over only, it’s a popular choice for birthdays, special occasions, or just festive evenings out. On-site you’ll find two different themed courses: the Helter Skelter Course and the Big Wheel course (though larger private group bookings also have access to the exclusive Meteorite course).

To guarantee your entry at this always-popular attraction, especially if coming with a big group, it’s best to reserve your slot online in advance. While a round on either of the 9-hole courses typically lasts for half an hour, you can also linger afterwards—or skip the golf altogether to soak up the scene, indulge in cocktails, and enjoy the array of street food bites.

Things to know before you go

  • Although Swingers West End is usually open exclusively to visitors aged 18 and up, families with kids over 7 can visit during designated weekend sessions.

  • For discounted rates, visit during off-peak times (weekdays before early evening).

  • Swingers West End’s street food options include burgers, pizza, tacos, and doughnuts; you don’t need to book in advance if you just plan to eat and drink.

  • The venue is fully accessible to wheelchair users, including one wheelchair-friendly mini-golf course.

  • There’s no dress code at Swingers West End, although the venue asks that visitors avoid wearing costumes.

  • A limited number of walk-in mini-golf tickets are available daily as soon as the venue opens.

How to get there

Swingers West End is located at 15 John Prince’s Street, right in the heart of London. To get there using public transportation, take the Bakerloo, Central, or Victoria lines to Oxford Circus station, located moments away; alternatively, get the Central, Elizabeth, or Jubilee lines to nearby Bond Street station. A number of bus lines serve the area, or you can opt for taxi or rideshare services.

When to get there

Swingers West End is open every day except Monday. Hours vary daily, but on weekdays it’s typically open from early afternoon until late in the evening, and on weekends from late morning or noon. If you book in advance, you’ll be assigned a 90-minute visiting slot; it’s recommended to arrive no later than 15 minutes before your start time.

Whistle Punks

For another fun-filled activity in the heart of the city, get a taste of the urban ax-throwing craze. Conveniently located just up the street from Swingers West End, Whistle Punks challenges visitors to perfect their ax-wielding abilities, and fosters a spirit of friendly competition.

Ways to explore

Few cities can offer a mini-golf course right in their center, but London’s Swingers Crazy Golf delivers just that—steps away from Oxford Circus. It’s a go-to for birthdays, group get-togethers, and other fun nights out, or even a break from sightseeing—with two themed 9-hole courses: the Helter Skelter and the Big Wheel. Most visitors book independently, and advance reservations are recommended, especially for groups, as the venue can be popular. A round takes about 30 minutes, but you’re welcome to linger afterwards—or even skip the golf entirely in favor of cocktails, street food, arcade games, or relaxing on the terrace.

Address

The central location of Swingers Crazy Golf, close to the bustling shopping area of Oxford Circus, means most visitors arrive using public transportation, such as the London Underground or bus.

Driving

Driving near Oxford Circus isn’t recommended, since the area can be incredibly busy with cars and buses. A rideshare is a much better option for car travel, or use public transit instead.

Public transportation

Take the Bakerloo, Central, or Victoria line to Oxford Circus station, just moments away from Swingers. Alternatively, take the Central, Elizabeth, or Jubilee line to nearby Bond Street station or bus #N137, which also stops nearby.

Best times to visit

Afternoons at Swingers (after 1pm) tend to be less crowded than the evenings, which typically attract after-work crowds.

Best days to visit

Going earlier in the week—such as Monday to Wednesday—is your best bet for fewer crowds.

Best months to visit

For outdoor dining and drinking on the terrace, come during warmer months such as June through September. July and August can get very busy, though.

Special events

There are special events throughout the year, including Pride celebrations in June, family fun events, and bottomless brunches, so it’s worth checking the events calendar before visiting.
