POINT OF INTEREST

The Maze Waterpark

1635 Neaves Road, Bullsbrook, Western Australia, 6084

On the edge of the Swan Valley less than an hour from Perth, the Maze is a fun family attraction. Mind-boggling mazes, miniature golf, and an animal park with koalas and kangaroos tempt visitors all year round, while summer visitors can also cool off at the Outback Splash water park.

The Basics

Admission tickets include full access to the park’s attractions, and it’s worth booking in advance to ensure the best price. With plenty of activities to try, you could easily spend the entire day here. Kids can tackle the six mazes, play a round of minigolf or a game of volleyball, launch themselves onto the giant jumping pillow, or spot kangaroos, wombats, and emus at the animal park. Outback Splash has six waterslides, plus the Plummet inflatable slide, a water playground, and the Octopus Bay kids’ splash zone.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Family passes are available, and visitors pay reduced admission in the winter.

  • The park has attractions suitable for all ages, but most of the activities are aimed at kids up to 12 years old.

  • On-site facilities include parking, paid lockers, a café and restaurant, and a gift shop, as well as cabanas available to rent.

  • All of the park’s attractions are outdoors, so bring sun protection and wear comfortable clothing and footwear.

  • The park is wheelchair-accessible, although some rides and attractions may not be.

How to Get There

The Maze is located at the start of the Swan Valley, around 31 miles (50 kilometers) north of Perth. There is no public transport to the park, so virtually all visitors arrive with their own transportation.

When to Get There

The Maze is open all year round, while the Outback Splash water park is open from October to April. December and January are the busiest months, and lines for attractions can be long, so it’s worth getting there early. Be aware that the park is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, except during Australian school holidays.

Exploring the Swan Valley

Less than an hour from downtown Perth, the Swan Valley is where city dwellers head to hike and cycle through the vineyards, cruise along the Swan River, and sample the region’s fine foods and wines. The area also has numerous family attractions, including the Oasis Supa Golf & Adventure Putt, the Margaret River Chocolate Company, and Caversham Wildlife Park, home to kangaroos, koalas, and wombats.
