The first of its kind in Thailand, Phuket’s Upside Down House (Baan Teelanka) defies gravity by letting you walk on the ceiling and climb the walls. It might feel mind-bending as you grow accustomed to the strange sensation of having the floor above and the ceiling below, but once you do, you’ll emerge with a collection of snaps that’ll take social media by storm.
The basics
Entrance to this quirky attraction is via the attic of an inverted three story house. Once inside, you’re free to explore all its rooms, including the living room, kitchen, bathroom and even a garage with a life-size tuk-tuk inside. Staff members are stationed throughout the attraction, ready to help with taking photos and guiding you on where to stand and how to pose. The site is also home to a 3,100-square-foot (950-square-meter) garden maze. For an extra charge, you can also enjoy a VR experience and an escape room.
Things to know before you go
This playful attraction is ideal for young children.
If you’re visiting Phuket during rainy season, the Upside Down Museum is a great place to shelter from rain showers.
The admission fee for the house equates to around 10 USD, and the garden maze has a separate admission fee.

Upside Down House (Baan Teelanka) is located in the Mueang Phuket district at 51/11 Chalermprakiat Ratchagan. From Phuket Old Town, it’s a 15-minute drive—public transport routes there are long and convoluted, so it’s easiest to take a cab.
