Dating back to the early 20th century, the Victoria Palace Theatre is a staple of London’s theater scene. Over the years it’s played host to a variety of hit shows, ranging from Billy Elliot The Musical to Grease. Until at least 2025, the theater is home to the award-winning musical Hamilton.

The basics

You can buy tickets for performances at Victoria Palace Theatre online or at the box office; consider booking in advance to secure your preferred seats. Seat prices vary, depending on where they’re located. The theater offers two luxury packages to make your visit special: the Champagne Package includes a premium seat, half a bottle of Champagne, a souvenir brochure, and a meet-and-greet service, while the VIP Package includes all of this, plus a reserved hospitality area and your choice of drinks.

Things to know before you go

  • There are four bars inside the theater serving drinks and snacks.

  • You can’t bring your own food and drinks into the theater.

  • You’ll have to undergo brief security checks on your way in, such as bag searches.

  • The auditorium is fully wheelchair-accessible and there are accessible toilets, too.

How to get there

Victoria Palace Theatre is on Victoria Street in central London, just a 2-minute walk from Victoria station. If travelling by tube, the Victoria, Circle, and District lines all stop at Victoria, as does the Gatwick Express and various mainline train services. Numerous bus routes stop nearby, including 11, 24, 148, 170, and 211.

When to get there

Performances at the Victoria Palace Theatre typically take place at 7.30pm or there are a couple matinee performances at 2.30pm each week. It’s recommended that you arrive at least 30 minutes before your performance starts to find your seat and buy refreshments. Latecomers won’t be admitted into the theater until a suitable break.

Where to enjoy a pre-theatre dinner nearby

There are many options for pre-theater meals close to the Victoria Palace Theatre. If coming into Victoria, head across to Market Halls, which is home to a variety of different restaurants, cafés, food stalls, and has a large roof terrace seating area. For matinee performances, consider a brunch or lunch at nearby Timmy Green or the Rail House Victoria.
