A long indoor canal with gondolas floating along it is your first clue that the Villaggio Mall in Qatar is no ordinary shopping complex. Inside this large Doha shopping center themed around Italy and Venice, you’ll find everything from upscale fashion boutiques to cinemas, food courts, and even an ice-skating rink, making this a venue designed to entertain the whole family.
The basics
As Doha’s most famous shopping mall, the Villaggio is often featured on city and shopping tours of Doha. Most tours only spend up to one hour at the mall, but with the range and depth of stores and attractions that are there, you could probably spend a whole day here if you like. As the Villagio is part of the Aspire Zone complex, you can combine it with a visit to the nearby 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic & Sports Museum or a walk around the Aspire Park.
Things to know before you go
Gondolania is the theme park area within the mall with the gondola rides and ice-skating rink, while Via Domo is the area for luxury shopping.

How to get there
Villagio Mall is in the Aspire Zone complex of Al Rayyan, in the Doha metropolitan area. The easiest way to get to the Villaggio Mall from Doha is to take the Gold Line metro to the Al-Aziziyah Station directly outside the mall. If the metro isn’t convenient, you can also get there quickly by taxi or rideshare.
When to get there
You can visit the Villaggio Mall any day of the week; doors are open from mid-morning until late at night, except on Saturday when it is closed in the morning. The mall is generally busiest in the early evening, so come in the morning or afternoon for a less crowded experience. As a large, indoor airconditioned attraction, it’s an ideal place to go on hot Doha days.
Where to go shopping in Doha
Shopping is a popular activity in Doha with many malls and markets to choose from. But it’s important you visit the right place depending on what you want to buy. Like the Villaggio Mall, City Center Doha is another large shopping mall with a fine selection of global brands to choose from.
