The basics

Wellpark Brewery is a must-visit for beer lovers. In addition to grabbing a pint of Tennent's in the tasting room, most visitors come for guided tours of the brewery. The basic behind-the-scenes tour discusses the history of Wellpark Brewery and ends with a tasting, while the Tennent's Tour and Meal combines a tour with food at a local pub. Those interested in learning more about Tennent's non-beers selections, on the other hand, can sign up for masterclasses focusing either on gin, rum, or whisky.

How to get there

Wellpark Brewery is located on Duke Street inside the Tennent Caledonian Breweries building. If you’re taking the train into the city, High Street and Bellgrove railway stations are the closest to the brewery. The Barrack Street bus stop—serving routes 41, 90, and 189—is right outside. Taxis and rideshares are available as well.

When to get there

Since Wellpark Brewery is an indoor attraction, there’s no bad time of year to go. Closed on Mondays, it’s open six days a week from mid-morning until early evening. The beer tour is 90 minutes, while all of the masterclasses are two hours long. Arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled tour.

Take a pub crawl from the Wellpark Brewery

Though the Wellpark Brewery has plenty of pints to drink, the beer lover visiting the home of Tennent’s will find other watering holes close by. Across the street is The Ladywell, a cozy pub with a large outdoor beer garden, and nearby Drygate Brewing Co. pours its own pints as well. Redmond’s of Dennistoun, a half-mile (1.6-kilometer) walk east of Wellpark Brewery, has rotating taps, food, and live music.
