York Army Museum is the ideal rainy-day destination for families with young children.
Children ages five and below enter for free, while service personnel, the disabled, and the over 60s enter for a reduced rate.

How to Get There
York Army Museum is situated opposite Clifford’s Tower on Tower Street in the center of York, meaning most visitors find it easiest to arrive on foot. However, the museum is also well-connected by both bus and rail and York Train Station is just a 15-minute walk from York Army Museum. There are also plenty of parking lots nearby.
When to Get There
York Army Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from the mid-morning until the late afternoon. Skip Saturdays and visit early for a quieter experience or stop by during the school holidays, when guides are often available to demonstrate uniforms, weapons, and combat gear. Last admission is 30 minutes before closing.
