Along with its unique architectural structure and exhibitions, highlights include a gift shop, a library, and an edible garden to stroll.

Devoted to art, architecture, and sustainability, the Zoma Museum is a great place to learn about traditional building techniques rooted in Ethiopia, in a contemporary cultural context. The majority of Addis Ababa group tours don’t visit the museum, but you can request a stop if you book a private, customizable tour of the city.

The Zoma Museum is a must-visit for architecture and design enthusiasts, Admission is discounted for children 12 and under, adults over 65, and students with school ID. The museum is wheelchair accessible, but there are some flat-cobbled pathways in the exterior areas that can be bumpy.
How to get there
The Zoma Museum is located in the Mekanisa neighborhood of southwestern Addis Ababa, about a 10-minute drive from Meskel Square. Taxis are widely available and easy to come by, and you can usually hail one on the street or use the RIDE app to get one. Some tours, including customizable city tours, also visit the museum.
When to get there
The museum is open every day except Monday, from morning to evening. Check the museum's social media pages to find out about any special exhibits or events. Note that the space may close on select public holidays.

Addis Ababa has a number of excellent museums that cover themes ranging from ancient history to Ethiopian art. Must-sees include the IES Ethnographic Museum, housed in the former palatial residence of Emperor Haile Selassie, and the National Museum of Ethiopia, which showcases early hominid fossils. The Red Terror Martyrs Museum is another important site, but be aware that it focuses on a particularly tragic time in recent history and may only be suitable for some visitors.
