Rules
No drones
No drones, we like quiet and we like privacy.
No dirt bikes, ATVs, etc.
If it's not street legal there is no point in bringing it here.
Directions to our Location!
Please take a look at our directions on our website, stillwellstore.com. We are located 46 miles south of Marathon off of Hwy 385 then left on FM 2627, just outside of Big Bend National Park. We are not located in the town of Alpine proper, despite what our address may make you think. We do not recommend using a GPS.
Please don't flush baby wipes
Please do not flush baby wipes down our toilets OR down your RV and into our septic system. Even if they claim to be "septic safe". There is no such thing. If it is not toilet tissue or waste, don't flush it! If this continues to be a problem, we will have to raise our prices in order to offset repair costs.
Quiet time
Quiet time is from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Please be respectful of those trying to sleep. Please do not sit there with your vehicle idling. NO GENERATOR USAGE. *Exceptions are during an electrical outage or specific permission from management.
Fire
NO EXCEPTIONS, NO WOOD FIRES, no burning of wood, kindling, logs, lumber, paper, dry plants. Wood fires are currently banned. Propane fire pit, charcoal, or indoor/outdoor clean burning logs (such as duraflame, eviro-log) are acceptable. All fires are to be in a designated fire container, no exceptions.
No washing vehicles
Yes, we know, your vehicle/motorcycle/trailer/RV/jetpack/spaceship or however you travel most likely got dirty on the way down here. You are visiting the desert. That's just how it is. We are on a well and cannot allow the luxurious consumption of water many are accustomed to. There will be a $25 charge minimum if caught washing vehicles. Please, just wait until you get to an actual carwash or home.
Check in and check out
Please check-in at the store upon arrival (pick up your map/campground rules). Check-in is from 1-7pm. After hours, pick up your map/guidelines so we know you arrived. Check-out is at noon.
Wi-Fi and Cell
The Wi-Fi here is limited, finite, constrained, lean, and more. Wi-Fi is not suitable for streaming, downloading, or working remotely. It is available from the store porch and is suitable for checking emails. There is no cell phone service here. The closest signal is roughly 15 miles away inside Big Bend National Park. Pretend it's 1985 and enjoy things other than having your phone in your face.
Choose your site with care
*All groups larger than 12 persons (youth, church, school, college groups) or special requests must contact camp management by phone regarding making reservations. Please select your site carefully from the map. Click on the boxes to learn the site number. Call and ask us questions, if needed. We will not refund the difference if you arrive and decide you want a different site or that you didn't book a proper site for your needs. We reserve the right to charge a $30.00 site change fee or $10.00 reservation change fee and we will not back apply weekly/monthly rates.
Cancellations and Refunds
Camping/RVing is an outdoor experience, therefore we do not give refunds due to the discomforts of nature, weather, Wi-Fi issues, or for early departure. We do not advise making reservations for May through September due to extreme high temperatures. No refunds after check-in. Please provide 72 hours notice for cancellations from May to October. All cancellations from November to April require 7 days notice. In the event of a No Show, no refund will be issued. All refunds are minus processing fees and the cost of doing business.
