The property seems to be in a convenient location with decent amenities but we did not have an opportunity to explore much in the area. Our room was comfortable but the property in general was less than average in our experience. The room was comfortable however the sofa was not typical and not usable with the way the backrest was made. Breakfast was pretty good and well maintained but the time could have benefited from extended hours on the weekend. The biggest disappointment for us was that the property was "pet friendly". Several in our family have pet allergies and we would have stayed elsewhere had we known about the policy at this hotel. What custodial actions are taken to ensure pet dander, pet waste, etc have been properly addressed/removed throughout the property? Regardless of allergies, I really do not want my children crawling on floors that could of had pet waste that simply was not cleaned. Patrons also tended to walk their pets close to the entrances. Although smoking is not allowed on the property, some were hovering outside of the exits to do their smoking which created a very unpleasant entry/exit for non-smoking guests. Ice/vending/laundry are all on one end of the hallway and the ice machine on our floor was not working. It was also a little noisy with kids running up/down the hall and other folks talking loudly as they passed. Access to the building is from either end of the long hallway but the majority of the parking is on the opposite sides resulting in a longer walk to access the building (although not terribly far away). Poor weather would make this less enjoyable. In summary, we will probably stay elsewhere next time simply because the property allowed pets.
We booked a double room - no accessibility. We were given a room with accessibility by default because there were no more double beds. We could have found another hotel if we were informed that there were no more double beds without accessibility. Also, it has a "Shining" feel to it. A little creepy. I wonder if it was a former hospice, mental, or medical facility.
