The elegance of this 1800s townhouse turned 1940s social club is captivating with its Beaux-Arts styled stained-glass windows, carved mahogany walls, and romantic fireplace. Elevated French cuisine keeps this brasserie at the top of many of the state�s award-winning lists. Located amidst the bustling activity of Yale University and local shops, the waitstaff offers a wealth of knowledge and is garbed in crisp black and whites. When available, start with baked escargot in a garlic, parsley, and tomato concass�e or the duck foie gras terrine. Follow with the braised short ribs or the butter-poached Maine lobster, whose accompaniments always change with the seasons. Desserts made by their in-house pastry chef are worth the calories, especially the Grand Marnier souffl� with cr�me anglaise. A five-course chef�s tasting menu is also available on certain evenings. Lunch is served on Friday and Saturday.
