Will Rogers Memorial Museum, 1720 W. Will Rogers Blvd., is a ranch-style museum overlooking Claremore on the site where Will Rogers planned to build a home. In the foyer is a well-known bronze sculpture of Rogers by Jo Davidson. Among personal items exhibited are an international saddle collection, miniature saddles, riding whips and ropes, and an extensive collection of movie posters.
Dioramas highlight Rogers' life and stints as a rodeo performer, vaudeville sensation, columnist, author and star of some 70 films. Documentaries and several of Will Rogers' movies are shown continuously; a hands-on children's area specializes in Native American life. A library and archives are included; the Rogers' family tomb is in a sunken garden; the Heritage Gallery showcases Rogers' Cherokee roots.
