Newnan

With its history rooted in the arts, Dunaway Gardens offers visitors a glimpse into the 1920s to 1940s. Created by vivacious actress Hetty Jane Dunaway, the gardens hosted ballet and theatrical troupes as well as Walt and Roy Disney and Minnie Pearl. The gardens comprise several areas: The Rockery, Arrowhead Pools, Hillside Rock Garden, Hanging Garden, Sunken Garden, Japanese Garden, Little Italy and The Rose Garden; phone (678) 423-4050.

Newnan is near the beginning of the scenic Chattahoochee-Flint Heritage Highway. This scenic route meanders through west-central Georgia from Roscoe south to West Point, Hamilton and Warm Springs.
