Cheney
The architecturally interesting Interurban Railway Depot is at Second Street and College Avenue. A collection of Victorian homes at Third and F streets includes an elaborate Queen Anne-style residence built in 1904.
The Columbia Plateau State Park Trail follows an abandoned rail line through a scenic landscape of pine forest, grasslands and lakes that includes Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge. The northernmost 4 miles of the trail are paved; the remainder of the 23-mile section the runs through Cheney is crushed rock. The north trailhead begins at Fish Lake, 4 miles east on SR 904; phone (509) 646-9218.
