Aloha Tower Marketplace
1 Aloha Tower Drive, Honolulu, Oahu, Honolulu, HI, 96813
The Aloha Tower Marketplace is one of Honolulu’s top shopping and dining destinations. Along with housing the main campus of Hawaii Pacific University, the shopping center is a great place to grab coffee, depart on whale-watching tours, or catch a luau. Though the Aloha Tower and observation deck are currently closed, it still remains a defining feature of Honolulu’s skyline.
The basics
Before air travel, the Aloha Tower was the first sight that many Oahu arrivals saw. Today, cruise ships still dock at Aloha Tower at Piers 10 and 11. Visitors to Aloha Tower Marketplace can enjoy a meal with a view, hear evening live music, browse shops, and take a whale-watching boat tour or dinner cruise. Guided tours of downtown Honolulu and circle-island tours typically stop or pass by the Aloha Tower Marketplace.
Things to know before you go
The observation deck is sometimes closed to visitors: Check before you visit.
As much of the marketplace is outdoors, visitors should protect themselves from the sun.
You'll find public restrooms within the marketplace.
How to get there
Situated halfway between Honolulu’s airport and Waikiki, the Aloha Tower Marketplace is easy to reach by car or public bus. Several buses, including routes 13 and 42, stop in front of the marketplace. Paid parking is available onsite—those attending an event at the Aloha Tower Marketplace can get validated parking.
When to get there
The Aloha Tower Marketplace is open seven days a week, from early morning until late evening. Hours of operation for individual businesses may vary. Several events happen at the marketplace throughout the year, from night markets to live musical performances. Check the official website for details on upcoming events.
Ka Moana Luau
The Aloha Tower Marketplace is the setting for Ka Moana Luau. The oceanfront dinner theater luau features Polynesian dancers, including Hawaiian hula dancers and Samoan fire-knife performers, and a tropical-themed buffet featuring such island favorites as poke, lomi lomi, and Kalua pig. Before the show, attendees can participate in interactive cultural activities including making leis and weaving headbands.
