A San Diego family favorite since 1925, Belmont Park features boardwalk-style rides, amusements, and a restaurant—all right on the beachfront. Get your adrenaline pumping on the vintage Giant Dipper roller coaster and zipline ride, or enjoy fun for all ages with mini golf, midway games, and beach rentals.
There’s no cost for admission to Belmont Park—pay as you go with individual tickets or purchase an unlimited-ride pass. Highlights of Belmont Park include the Liberty Carousel and the Belmont Express train, and activities such as laser tag, rock climbing, a ropes challenge, and an escape room are also on offer. A handful of San Diego Segway and bike tours stop at Belmont Park for some freestyle fun.
Free parking is available in four surrounding lots; free valet service is also provided.
Bikes, surfboards, bodyboards, and other beach gear can be rented at Mission Beach Rentals inside the park.
On the midway, you can get ice cream, burgers, and pizza. There are also souvenir and rental shops to stock up on all the gear you need for a day at the beach.
Enjoy cocktails and casual bar food oceanside at the Beach House restaurant.
Belmont Park is located in the Mission Beach district of San Diego. Free parking is available in four nearby lots; if those are full, a free shuttle connects you to the park entrance from the East Bonita Cove and Ventura parking lots. Ride sharing is another great option for getting there.
The park is open daily, with extended late-night hours on Sundays. Check the calendar for special events around holidays; highlights include the Beachside Fall Fest in October and Winter Wonder in December, which features festive light displays and Santa photos. The Beach House, the Draft, and other restaurants at the park offer happy hours, live music sessions, football parties, and other ongoing events.
Belmont Park is also the site of one of Southern California's largest indoor pools, the Plunge at Fit Mission Beach. The heated indoor pool sits beneath a retractable roof and features floor-to-ceiling windows with ocean views. There are also water polo cages, lap swim lanes, and an inflatable obstacle course. The Plunge offers day passes, monthly memberships, swim lessons, and group classes.
