North Straub Park

North Straub Park is one of a series of bayfront parks in St. Petersburg. It’s surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and museums, often hosting community events and private gatherings. Its sibling park, South Straub Park, is just opposite the Museum of Fine Arts.
North Straub Park is a nice patch of green space along the St. Pete waterfront but has limited activities throughout the year. Strolling across the 5-acre (2-hectare) greenspace with a coffee in hand on your way to the Dali Museum or St. Pete Pier is a great way to experience it when no festivals or community gatherings are scheduled.
This 5-acre (2-hectare) park is dog-friendly but has no off-leash area.
Spa Beach is the only beach within walking distance of the park.
There’s no cover from the weather, so pack an umbrella if gray skies are on the forecast.
North Straub Park is located in St. Petersburg at 400 Bayshore Dr. NE. It is north of the Museum of Fine Arts and St. Pete Pier. You’ll have to find street parking or a nearby garage, as no dedicated lot exists. Public transportation, including a bus line and a ferry from downtown Tampa, also serves North Straub Park.
North Straub Park was built for everyday casual use, so you’re welcome to visit at all hours of the day or night for dog walking, sunrise viewing, or walking on the recreation trail. Events take place around the year, like concerts, film screenings, and holiday festivities so October, December, and July are great times to see the park decorated for Halloween, Christmas, and the Fourth of July.
North Straub Park is far from the only waterfront park near the St. Pete Pier. North Shore Park is a perfect place to park for the day, as it has pools, playgrounds, and sports courts. North Straub Park is a 5-minute walk from North Shore Park and Spa Beach on the St. Pete Pier, offering hours of fun in the sun.
