Questacon: the National Science and Technology Centre

The young (and the young at heart) can interact with more than 200 exhibits divided between eight hands-on galleries and an outdoor Science Garden at Questacon. The basics
Half a million visitors pass through the doors of Questacon in Canberra each year, making it one of the most popular family attractions in the city. Visitors can choose between a basic single admission ticket or a Canberra multi-attraction pass that grants admission to three locations: Questacon, Cockington Green Gardens (a park of miniatures), and the Australian Institute of Sport.

How to get there
Questacon is in the Parkes museum precinct, by Lake Burley Griffin. It’s a 30-minute walk across the bridge from the main business district, and is a stop on the free Culture Loop shuttle bus.
When to get there
The museum is open daily from morning to very early evening (closed Christmas). One of the best times to visit is a weekday afternoon, after the school groups have left for the day. Plan to arrive early if you’re visiting on a weekend or holiday.
