A rollicking good time is had each year in early July at the Antigonish Highland Games. Held since 1863, the games are the oldest continuous highland games outside of Scotland. In addition to a tug-of-war contest, a road race, ceilidhs and piping and drumming competitions, visitors can enjoy a concert under the stars, highland dancing, a street fair and a grand parade.
