Guelph's downtown historic district can be explored on five different walking tours. The Guelph Arts Council offers a $5 booklet that provides details about the sites that can be seen on each tour as well as offers guided tours, which also cost $5, on select Sundays, April through October; phone (519) 836-3280.Guelph Walkabouts is a series of short walking tours that explore the city's heritage and natural features; the visitor and information center office is the source for literature about the tours.

Stone Road Mall, 435 Stone Rd., features more than 140 stores. Old Quebec Street, downtown at 55 Wyndham Street N., offers distinctive shops and boutiques in a mall topped with a glass roof.
