Visit Naples, From Pompeii to Pizza

With almost 3,000 years of history, narrowing down which Naples attractions you must see can be a little difficult. But if you start with a few of the most important sites, you’ll be able to dive more deeply into the city the next time you visit Naples. Here are a few things you have to see or do:

The restaurants in Naples are some of the best in Italy, meaning they’re some of the finest eateries on the planet. While there’s almost no end to the great food in the area, here are a few restaurants to start with:

To visit Pompeii while you’re vacationing in Naples, you can take the Circumvesuviana train. This train runs between Sorrento and Naples, and it is an easy walk from the Circumvesuviana stations to Mount Vesuvius National Park. While you’re visiting Pompeii, make sure to visit some of these sites:

Because it is a large, tightly packed city, it can be tough to figure out where to stay in Naples. If you are traveling with a tour group, they should already have your accommodations. One of the best overall areas is the Centro Storico area. If you’re most interested in the great views of the water, stay in Chiaia. If you want a centralized location, try looking for lodging in Vomero. The Spanish Quarter is great if you want to stay in the most hip area of Naples.
