Bergen Peak's subalpine terrain, grasslands, steep slopes and forests are just outside Elk Meadow Park. Downtown's Evergreen Lake offers boating in summer and ice skating in winter. A 1.5-mile walking path around the lake offers sculptures, picnic areas and wildlife viewing.
