Charlevoix is on US 31, a scenic route that follows the shore between Traverse City and Petoskey.

Beaver Island Boat Co., 103 Bridge Park Dr., offers ferry service to Beaver Island; phone (231) 547-2311 or (888) 446-4095.

The Little Traverse Wheelway offers some 26 miles of paved pathways from Charlevoix to Harbor Springs. The trailhead is at Charlevoix Township Hall, 12491 Waller Rd. The year-round trail allows biking, skating, skiing and walking. A .75-mile boardwalk through a wetland area may reveal deer and other wildlife sightings.
