There are lots of different ways to experience Las Olas Beach. Some visitors spread out a beach towel and spend the afternoon on the sand, while others pedal past on an electric bike tour of Fort Lauderdale. To get out on the water, options range from yacht tours with a sandbar stop to deep-sea big game fishing trips. After a day at the beach, many visitors head to nearby Las Olas Boulevard, known for its trendy restaurants, shops, and lively nightlife.

Las Olas Beach is located about 1 mile (1.5 kilometers) east of downtown Fort Lauderdale. Most visitors get here by car, bus, or on foot—with public transportation being a convenient and hassle-free option.
Driving
If driving to Las Olas Beach from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, take US 1 north. Turn right on SE 17th Street and continue to South Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard. The journey takes around 30 minutes.
Public transportation
It’s easy to get to the beach using the Broward County Transit (BCT) bus system. Both the 11 and 40 buses stop at State Road A1A and Las Olas Boulevard, right next to the beach.

Opt for a walk along Las Olas Beach in the morning for a peaceful experience and more parking options. Sunset is also a great time for photos.
