Other features of the town include red brick streets, a variety of locally owned shops, the 1870 Black Covered Bridge, Pioneer Farm & House Museum, golf and disc golf courses, Hueston Woods and hiking trails. Public ice-skating is offered at the Goggin Ice Center at 610 S. Oak St. Oxford's historic houses include the 1838 Lewis Place, traditional home of the Miami University presidents; the 1837 Simpson House, a guesthouse; the “Coffee Mill House”; and the home of Lorenzo Lorrain Langstroth, inventor of the revolutionary movable comb beehive.
