In addition to the aforementioned skiing—cross country as well as downhill—there’s plenty to keep you outside enjoying the fresh air and beautiful scenery. There are trails to hike and mountain biking adventures to experience. You can fish in lakes or catch a trout in the Winooski River, launch a boat or canoe, or go for a swim or a picnic. Nearby Green Mountain National Forest and Mount Mansfield and Waterbury Reservoir provide opportunities for many of these endeavors.
