Dodgeville
The 40-mile Military Ridge State Trail connects Dodgeville with Madison passing along the boundaries of Governor Dodge State Park and Blue Mound State Park. Hikers and bicyclists use the gravel-paved trail until winter, when it is opened to cross-country skiers and snowmobilers.
The town is home to the corporate headquarters for the Lands' End clothing company. Take note: Lands' End is the correct spelling of the company's name. Years ago the owner made an error in a promotional brochure when the company was still new, and he couldn't afford a reprint to place the apostrophe where it belonged. Lands' End has been the spelling ever since.
