London Aquarium

( Highly Recommended )

This is the capital's first real aquarium and one of the new generation of maximum-visibility, large-tank, natural-atmosphere aquaria which are currently enjoying great popularity. The centrepiece is two giant 8m-high tanks featuring Atlantic and Pacific displays. The latter is home to sand tiger and brown sharks, and large rays that glide silently between giant, sunken, replica Easter Island statues. The Reef and Living Coral exhibit and the Indian Ocean tank boast the most colourful denizens of the deep, while the highlight for many children is the chance to stroke a ray in the touch pool.
