Soho ( Do not miss ) Soho, bounded roughly by Oxford Street, Regent Street, Coventry Street/Leicester Square and Charing Cross Road, is central London's most cosmopolitan area. Over the centuries it has accommodated waves of French Huguenot, Italian, Greek and latterly Chinese immigrants, and artists too have long been drawn here, giving Soho its Bohemian reputation. In the 1960s and 1970s the area became notorious for sleaze, though a clean-up in the 1980s closed some of the worst establishments. Today the area is known for its many reasonably priced restaurants, its buzzing nightlife, and more recently, as a gay centre.
