Oxo Tower
(
Highly Recommended
)
Built in 1930 for the Oxo company, this splendid art deco tower has long been a Thames landmark, but in recent times had fallen
into such disrepair that demolition was a likelihood. Now lovingly restored, its huge illuminated red O X O trademark letters
make it one of the most striking sights on the London night skyline. The tower is now home to exhibition spaces, including
the quirky, eclectic Museum Of, eating places (open daily), award-winning craft and designer shops and studios (closed Monday).
Another good reason for visiting it is to enjoy the views from the free 8th-floor public viewing gallery.
