Ghent would not be Ghent if the city did not attach great importance to flowers, an importance that goes far beyond the azalea. The study garden of the Faculty of Science is open daily, free of charge, and shows herbs and plants that originate from all over the world. Obviously you will have to visit the hot houses to see the tropical plants. Throughout the seasons, there are boards giving details of where the plants belong in the flora according to area of distribution.
