Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre

( Do not miss )

Scotland's national drink is the theme of this entertaining and informative visitor centre, which attracts visitors from all over the world. If you want to learn about the history, manufacture and blending of whisky, head here - there's even a free dram to round off your visit. A film first gives a quick tour round a distillery; this is followed by a short talk on the different whisky regions and the effect of local conditions on the taste and `nose' of the spirit, with a chance to have a sniff yourself. Next, a genie emerges from a bottle to tell you about blending before directing you to a journey through time - a ride in a barrel-car through 300 years of whisky history, complete with appropriate scents and sounds.
