Victoria Street
(
Highly Recommended
)
The steep curve of Victoria Street links the Grassmarket with George IV Bridge and the Royal Mile. It's a cobbled street lined
with some of Edinburgh's most individual and beguiling shops. As you walk down, look up to your right at the old tenements
clinging to the precipitous slopes beneath the Royal Mile. This area is the West Bow, once the processional way into the Old
Town, and the former route from Castlehill to the Grassmarket. Walk along Victoria Terrace, perched above the roofs of Victoria
Street, to experience the atmosphere of this part of town.
