The Talbot Rice Art Gallery, a huge and airy balconied building that opened in 1975, lies just off the Old Quad of the University
of Edinburgh. It houses the Torrie Collection, a pleasing small collection of Dutch and Italian Old Masters. The gallery is
probably better known for its changing exhibitions, which run all year round, with shows by established Scottish and other
artists.
